Due to some issues with the current Debian image service that doesn't yet has the necessary features, this is a TEMPORARY attempt to fix the situation, to allow automatic updates of a Debian image in a production cloud. This service provides:
- Stable URLs.
- Already unpacked RAW images, ready to be used with the Glance upload URL feature.
- Predictable result (no moving infrastructure generating the images).
- Only updates when needed (no useless annoying "daily" images).
- Octavia images.
These images are set to use http://deb.debian.org/debian and http://security.debian.org/debian-security, which may not be a good fit for your region. If you wish to fix this, simply deploy the package openstack-debian-images-build-farm to build your own image server, with custom URLs pointing to your local mirror.
These images were produced by me (ie: Thomas Goirand, aka zigo at debian.org), who has been producting official Debian images for OpenStack since the Jessie release (released in April 2015), a long time before the Debian Cloud Team existed.
This was done with the openstack-debian-images image tooling (ie: not FAI, like the rest of what the Debian Cloud Team uses). Please contribute with a merge request.
I hope the features provided by this service and tool can be added to the Debian Cloud Team build process. If you are looking for the images produced by the Debian Cloud Team for OpenStack (and other clouds), please click here. Note that the images for OpenStack are there called "generic" (with all the hardware drivers: suitable for Ironic), or "generic cloud" (with only virtualization drivers).
This server contains OpenStack images for the folowing Debian releases:
/openstack-debian-images/stretch /openstack-debian-images/buster /openstack-debian-images/bullseye /openstack-debian-images/sid
It also contains Octavia images. Note that the images in a folder terminated with an OpenStack release name (such as "buster-train" or "bullseye-wallaby") are built using the unoficial OpenStack backport repositories, setup using extrepo. The other ones (such as "bullseye") are using packages exclusively from the Debian official repositories.
/openstack-debian-images/octavia/buster-train /openstack-debian-images/octavia/buster-ussuri /openstack-debian-images/octavia/buster-victoria /openstack-debian-images/octavia/bullseye (victoria, only official Debian repos) /openstack-debian-images/octavia/bullseye-victoria /openstack-debian-images/octavia/bullseye-wallaby
Note that these images integrity can be checked using this GPG key. This key fingerprint is:
BF97 67C2 47F4 568E 3BF7 E090 CDAC BBE1 6A90 CF43This key has been signed with my own key (ie: zigo@debian.org) which is in the Debian keyring (available in the "debian-keyring" package):

Please report bugs, download speed records, etc., to zigo at debian dot org.
